Mayer Brown
LAW
C2C provided Project Management, Relocation Management, and Furniture Management services for the renovation of Mayer Brown’s 167,000 square foot Washington, DC office.
A World-Class Vision
The goal was clear: create a world-class law firm headquarters that reflects Mayer Brown’s elevated position in the legal community. The design needed to foster collaboration, support talent attraction and retention, and present a sophisticated aesthetic that seamlessly integrated the firm’s original buildout with its new vision for the future.
Strategy & Execution
C2C was tasked with delivering the most expeditious and cost-effective renovation plan possible. By carefully sequencing work and leveraging early procurement, we enabled early occupancy while reducing overall project costs.
Scope of Work
The project encompassed the renovation of seven occupied floors, requiring meticulous coordination to minimize disruption. Highlights included:
Glass office fronts to create transparency and elevate design.
Reconfigured secretarial stations to improve workflow and efficiency.
Renovation of the conference center and reception floor, presenting a refined, client-facing image.
Installation of a new communicating stair and a new café, enhancing connectivity and amenities.
Upgrades to conference rooms with advanced audiovisual, telecommunication, and security systems to support a global, technology-enabled practice.
Base Building Enhancements
To accommodate the tenant improvements, substantial base building modifications were undertaken, including slab openings, stair openings, and a roof deck modification—transforming the infrastructure to align with the firm’s long-term needs.
The Result
The Mayer Brown renovation delivered a sophisticated, modern, and highly functional headquarters that not only reflects the firm’s global stature but also enhances collaboration, efficiency, and the day-to-day experience for attorneys and staff.
